United States Forum

History – On August 9, 1986, members attending the International Convention of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International approved that a United States Forum be established. An ad hoc committee appointed by the international president to study proposals submitted by the states and in 1988, the US Forum Ad Hoc Committee recommended the U.S. Forum be established with a elected chairman and four elected regional representatives to plan and coordinate the activities of the U.S. Forum for each biennium. All U.S. members of The Delta Kappa Society International are members of the U.S. Forum.
Purpose – The purpose of the U.S. Forum is to identify and select major educational issues affecting women, children, and education upon which the U.S. members of the Society may take action. At the national, regional, state, and chapter levels, it serves as a viable vehicle through which members may participate in efforts to make the Purposes of the Society come to fruition through action.
Mission Statement – The mission of the U.S. Forum is to serve the interests of members that reflect the purposes and mission of the Society. Emphasis is placed on sharing information and ideas that explore solutions to common problems.
Advocacy Statement – The U.S. Forum is dedicated to being an advocate for children by implementing actions which enable change and improvement in social institutions, systems, legislation, and practices that impose hardships or impacts negatively on individuals, groups or families.
