2023-2025 WVSO Strategic Goals1. Support women educators as they continue to work with each other to teach and help students succeed in the classroom and extra-curricular activities. Highlight the achievements of these educators through articles in local papers and the Newsette.
2. Encourage chapters to provide meaningful activities that deliver a balance of collaboration, community service and social events. Work with chapters to develop a state Speakers Bureau for West Virginia and Appalachian speakers in addition to leadership and motivational speakers. 3. Urge members to become more proficient in technology and use of communication tools by: (a) developing chapter websites, (b) using the West Virginia State Organization Facebook page as well as the state and international websites, (c) downloading and using the DKG app, (d) providing Zoom or similar engines as a way for virtual participation in meetings, and (e) other technology as deemed beneficial by the chapters and state. The technology committee will assist in any way needed by the chapter and its members. 4. Encourage chapter presidents to achieve the Gold Rose. 5. Collaborate with the membership committee, revitalization committee, leadership development committee, the webmaster, and communication committee to implement a program of relevancy for all chapters. 6. Encourage mental and physical wellness for all chapter members. |
Purposes of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International
The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International has seven basic purposes that govern its program of work and study. The activities of each level of the Society implement the purposes of the Society. The seven purposes include:

1. To unite women educators of the world in a genuine spiritual fellowship
2. To honor women who have given or who evidence a potential for distinctive service in any field of education 3. To advance the professional interest and position of women in education 4. To initiate, endorse and support desirable legislation or other suitable endeavors in the interests of education and of women educators 5. To endow scholarships to aid outstanding women educators in pursuing graduate study and to grant fellowships to non-member women educators 6. To stimulate the personal and professional growth of members and to encourage their participation in appropriate programs of action 7. To inform the members of current economic, social, political and educational issues so that they may participate effectively in a world society |
