Gold Rose Award Guidelines for 2022-2023
To earn the Gold Rose Award, chapter presidents must complete 14 of the 20 items listed below (many of them are things that you should be doing to report your chapter activities). If there is an * after the item, that means that you can get credit twice.
- Attended the State Conference (4/30/22)
- Entered a chapter exhibit at conference*
- Have a chapter member serving on a state committee/or as state officer
- Attended two chapter president Zoom meetings
- Growth of chapter with one new/reinstated member
- Created an opportunity for a "Rising Star" to take on chapter leadership role--committee chair, project facilitator*
- Created a chapter yearbook and/or published three chapter newsletters
- Submitted an article/photo to Newsette about chapter activities*
- Nominated at least one individual for Local Leading Lady recognition*
- Ensured that the chapter treasurer submitted the IRS Form 990 before November 15
- Conducted a community service project (report in Newsette)
- Offered a program or book on the Educator Book Award*
- Provided Information to members about WVSO and DKG International opportunities
- Provided an outreach activity to promote DKG to non-traditional educators--business world, medical field, libraries, college education students, etc.
- Helped the chapter plan a program that fits into one of the areas of DKG's Educational Excellence Categories*
- Reported chapter deaths using Form 6 to International, WVSO 2nd Vice-President, and WVSO Treasurer
- Invited the WVSO President to attend a chapter meeting
- Collaborated with another DKG chapter on a project, topic, or issue of interest to members
- Develop a chapter website
- Post at least one chapter activity, spotlight on a member, or special project on the WVSO Facebook page.
